In the tapestry of life, we are all interconnected, woven together by an invisible thread of shared humanity. Yet, it is easy to get caught up in our own lives, our own struggles, and forget the profound truth that we are all on loan to one another. This isn’t something that is willingly accepted in life most times at a young age, as many go through a phase of feeling that they are invincible. This can be a horrible miscalculation in thought for us.

As humans, we are born into this world not knowing when our time will end. We are gifted with a finite number of days, hours, and moments, and it is up to us to make the most of them. But we cannot do this alone. We need others to support us, to love us, and to help us grow. Just as importantly we need to be open to allowing others to support us, to love us, and help us grow as well. That team of individuals that we choose to surround ourselves with are very key to the foundational thought processes and actions in which we go on develop and execute.

From the moment we are born, we are surrounded by people who care for us and help us to survive. This is the idea circumstance in which we are placed within upon our birth. This could be so far from the reality of many individuals circumstances. As humans we are sometimes put in unfortunate situations of being brought into this life without loving or wanted circumstance. Even in these situations we can only hope that there are individuals that love us enough to show us that the time they’ve been loaned out to us is appreciated. Our parents, siblings, and other family members provide us with the love, nourishment, and protection we need to thrive. As we grow older, we meet friends, teachers, and mentors who shape our lives in countless ways. These individuals are just as important to us in our lives, if not more important potentially. Remember, a healthy tree can’t grow from tainted soil and water.

Every person we encounter, from the stranger on the bus to the cashier at the grocery store, has the potential to impact our lives in some way. A kind word, a helping hand, or a simple smile can make a world of difference. And it is our responsibility to do the same for others. To take the same actions that can potentially disappear in the blink of an eye, the beat of a heart, a second in a minute, is overly underrated. Many don’t acknowledge the importance of this action until it’s too late. Once a voice is heard no more, a hug is out of reach of being received, a kiss can’t be felt on the lips or simply the ability to receive an answer on a phone call. It is then in which it usually hits that the time we had was not valued and can not be reissued.

We should also remember that we are not immortal. One day, we will all transition from this life, and we will leave behind the people we love. But if we live our lives with purpose and meaning, we can leave a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift others. One day all voices silence forever and that is something that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Love, embrace, cherish, and embody the experiences that you are able to have with those that have a meaningful place in your life. For we are all on loan to one another, and we should never forget that this entire human experience is only a moment.
