Why Your AQ Can Save You During The Pandemic

During uncertain times like the very moments that we are living within, we seek the ability to keep as much of a normal routine as we possibly can. In business, it can be quite challenging depending on the industry that you currently are employed in. There are important traits that show from great leaders and employees alike during times like this. The way that an individual in a position of leadership takes the problem by the horns and wrangles it enough to see how to maneuver through it is so important. Does your leadership seem uncertain when problems and concerns arise? More than likely if they do you would not feel comfortable in their ability to problem-solve. Charles Darwin once stated, “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, it is the one that is the most adaptable to change.” In the times of today, this statement holds most true, if never before.

So what is your adaptability quotient and how have you been able to execute it so that you are able to continue to evolve during these transitional moments we are living in? Take a moment to think about the additional talents and skillsets that you have that can be of service to others around you. Businesses in this moment are looking for individuals that are able to come in and make their operations less stressful and to flow more efficiently. So what AQ skill do you have that would be an asset to an individual, company or organization that is seeking and how do you recognize it? I would suggest that you begin by taking a look at the practices and skills that you do daily in your own line of work. There are specifics that give you this operation inflow. Whatever they are, they make you efficient and effective to the point that you get results and complete critical tasks. So look into what those traits may be and then think about how you can turn that into a revenue-generating service.

Adapting during a time like this has shown to be a great asset to not only the individuals or companies that are able to adapt but also to the ones that are able to take advantage of those changes because they understand the need for an alternative approach in this moment. To be able to sell a business on your ability to help them stay relevant, make continued revenue and be innovative at the same time, you want to be sure to show the value in your skillset/service. Once a value is shown, the question of whether they should or shouldn’t pay for it becomes nonexistent. There is a need for individuals that can show creativity, innovation and moreso adaptability during these trying times. Again, don’t sit on your AQ because you don’t know if you have what it takes. The fact that you have read through this article shows that you may have a sense of what your AQ skillset may be.
